Welcome

Timber products manufactured from Welsh Hardwoods
harvested from managed forest in Wales
SIREN is an intermediate labour market
(ILM) that has been established as a ‘not
for profit' social enterprise. Our organisation
is based in Brecon at the heart of the National
Park, but we are actively looking to replicate
the success of our existing operation into
other areas.Our operation
aims to encompass all of these goals into
one cohesive package to deliver a truly sustainable
organisation.
The products we make are all made from indigenous
Welsh hardwoods like Beech, Oak, Chestnut,
Ash, Lime, Sycamore etc…all from managed forests.
This means that the vast majority of the timber
we use is fairly small diameter, generally
no larger than 4 inches wide and 4 foot long. |

|
The very nature of the timber we
use means that the design of our products is critical,
use of small diameter in furniture manufacture means
that we often laminate small sections of timber
together to form a large section, thus giving us
the option to bend / curve our furniture…
By laminating small sections of timber together
we are able to make the best use of timber that
would previously have been considered as unusable,
as much as possible of our off cuts of timber are
re-used in smaller projects wherever appropriate.
